Day 9 - 365 Project Family and Home

A little blue

When you've been hit with only shades of gray and white for weeks a little patch of blue sky is just what you need to lift your spirit and remind you that winter won't last forever and spring is just around the corner.

Clorox Get the Dirt, Keep it Clean Sweepstakes

Clorox just launched its "Get the Dirt, Keep it Clean" sweepstakes*.  Clorox is giving away a trip for two to Hollywood so you can get all the "dirt" on your favorite celebrities directly from the source.  The prize package includes round trip airfare, a spa package, a sightseeing tour and two $450 gift cards for two!

This fun new sweepstakes requires you take a cellular or digital picture of their JAGTAG and then text, e-mail or tweet it to earn an entry.

In response you'll get an entry confirmation that includes tips on how to get the "dirt" out of your life with tips on how to keep fashionable winter whites white, keep flowers fresh longer and how to host your own Hollywood-style party.

 * I received information from The Clorox Company at no cost to me.

Kroger Mega Event

Me and my little buddy Caitlyn hit Kroger today for one of their Mega Events.  My total before coupons was $60.34 and after $13.01.  I also got an ONYO coupon for $1.50.

Stock up at the Kroger Mega Event

If you're like me you read a lot of coupon and savings blogs.  Sometimes it's tedious to read through all the coupon match-ups.  I realized it's because I really only want to see the best deals, you know the ones that you want to run out and get before someone else gets to them first.

So starting today you won't see lengthy coupon-matchups here.  I want reading my blog to be a good use of your time (and mine) so my grocery and drug store posts are going to show only those items I think are a great deal. That said, here's the best of the Mega event items with the final price shown after doubled coupons and Mega discount.

Beginning at sunset on Friday, continuing to sunset on Saturday we keep the Sabbath in our home as a day of rest and Godly devotion.

Day 5 - 365 Project Family and Home

School's Out

There's a moment when my son gets off the bus when he's looking around expectantly and the instant of recognition when his face lights up that I look forward to every day. He's happy school is out and the drive home is full of chit chat.

It's Tax Time - HR Block

I've used H&R Block At Home for the past 4 years.  I find it very easy to use.  It's free to complete and e-file your EZ form but if you need to file a 1040 or 1040A I'd recommend an upgrade which will cost you between $19.95, $29.95 or $69.95 to complete and e-file.

I've never been disappointed with the H&R Block At Home. In fact I've had a few pleasant surprises.  Because of the "interview" type process the online system uses it identified opportunities for deductions and tax credits I didn't realize we were eligible for.

I like the ease of sitting at home and just reaching into my file cabinet for those documents I need versus a trip home from an H&R office to retrieve an additional piece of documentation that I forgot to bring in.  E-filing also has the benefit of being processed faster than mailing in your return.
